We aim to provide a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone. By attending, you agree to abide by the following guidelines:
Respect and Inclusivity:
- Treat everyone with respect, regardless of their skill level, age, background, or identity.
- Accept each other's boundaries. If someone declines a dance, respect their choice without question or judgment.
- Avoid political statements, provocations, and any form of aggressive behavior.
Communication and Behavior:
- Communicate respectfully and kindly with fellow participants, staff, and volunteers.
- Be aware of personal space and comfort levels, and ensure that your actions do not make others feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Harassment and Inappropriate Behavior:
- Harassment, discrimination, and any form of inappropriate behavior are strictly prohibited. This includes unwelcome physical contact, verbal comments, or any other actions that may harm or disrespect others.
- Options for addressing violations include verbal warnings, removal from the event, or bans from future events, depending on the severity of the behavior.
Photography and Videography:
- Do not record or photograph individuals without their consent. If you capture spontaneous videos or photos of a dance, please ask for permission afterward and respect the decision of those involved.
- Photos and videos of the whole dance floor, without focusing on specific individuals or couples, are allowed without consent.
Alcohol and Substance Use:
- Alcohol is available for purchase alongside a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages. No alcohol will be served to anyone under the age of 18.
- Please consume alcohol and other substances responsibly: pace yourself, stay hydrated, and know your limits. Consider designating a sober friend or taking breaks as needed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
- Remember that substances can impair your ability to judge boundaries and respect others. Always be mindful of your behavior and the comfort of those around you.
- Consequences for impaired behavior due to alcohol or other substances include a verbal warning, being asked to leave until sober, or complete removal from the event.
Consequences of Violations:
- Violation of this code of conduct may result in immediate removal from the event, disqualification from competitions, and/or bans from future events, depending on the severity.
Reporting Issues:
- If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it to event staff, the event organizer, or through our anonymous online complaint form. We are committed to taking your concerns seriously and addressing them promptly.
